Nishabd (2007)

Nishabd kept to its title truly with a drop-dead stunning rendition and direction by RGV. The movie took the audience by storm for its many factors like subtle oomph, leggy Jiah, Amitabh’s magical dialogue delivery, Ram Gopal Verma’s bold concept et al that aided the movie registering on blockbuster hit list. What adds Nishabd’s celluloid knockout are the sequestered green locales of Munnar where the movie was filmed for its entire length.

The movie opens up in sinfully gracious locales of Munnar seizing the enchanting beauty of its tea gardens, greenery, steep winds, and immaculate beds of green charm and so on. Nishabd’s Seven Mallay bungalow which is shown as Amitabh’s residence is a colonial Tea Garden bungalow of the English babus of mid 920s. Recorded deftly on screen, the bungalow  is decked with fireplaces, furniture and fittings that are typical of the period. Seven Mallay, now tagged with Nishabd Bungalow is laid out in perfect environments of tea & eucalyptus gardens where one can palm out Munnar’s natural bounties.

The period before the release of Nishabd  was marked with  storming protest  carried out at Amitabh Bachchan`s hometown Allahabad. The reason for protest was Amitabh`s onscreen romance with Jiah Khan.
