Fanaa (2006)

Tere dil mein meri saanson ko panah mil jaaye,
Tere ishq mein meri jaan fanaa ho jaye...

The couplet echoing throughout the movie and audiences’ mind is none the else than Fanaa’s signature rhyme. Aamir Khan and Kajol starrer Fanaa was shot in the Delhi, the Capital city of India, in some measures at  several monuments that make the background screen of the movie. Filmed over a period of nine days, Fanaa captures the essence of Delhi with shots of Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Purana Qila and Lodhi Garden, Humayun’s Tomb, Rail Museum, Rashtrapati Bhawan et al.

This beautiful musical composition that starts in Qutub area graciously records Purana Qila and Lodhi Gardens, Humayun’s Tomb, Rail Museum, Rashtrapati Bhawan locations through its length The New Delhi Railway Station features out once in the scene when Kajol sets out on trip to Delhi with her friends. Audiences can identify with the road and common places pictured in the movie. 

Fanaa`s aesthetic masterpeice song des rangeela pictured on the theme of national flag is shot at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. Kajol’s heydays in the movie  when she just meets Aamir Khan till the time she is back to Kashmir is all in Delhi. For instance Aamir Khan takes her to Delhi Haat for dinner. The place where they indulge into mushy romantic dialouges is Connaught place.

After reading the scrip of Fanaa, Kajol and Aamir revised and  adjusted the scrip with some changes that added even more meaning and depth to the movie. This helped the movie set a record at the box office in 2006.
