Betaab (1983)

A romantic, mawkish drama, Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh-starrrer Betaab set huge records at the box office in the year of its release. The story of two youngsters who fall in love with each other despite the status gap in their status, Betaab caught the imagination of viewers with light-eyed débutante Amrita Singh and a fair share of melodious songs. What adds more to movie are the enchanting visuals of Pahalgam, Kashmir, where the duo, Sunny Deol and Amrita singh, were seen romancing each other onscreen.

Betaab was shot over long schedules over three parts in India for its interiors and exterior scenes. The movie was shot in Pahalgam over a period of 50 days and a ranch set was built in the Pahalgam Valley, where Sunny Deol  resides in the movie.  Many scenes of Betaab were shot in Bangalore  and Delhi.

The  Betaab  Valley
A valley skirted by the thickets of pine trees and rolling meadows, as seen in the movie Betaab, the Betaab Valley is a tourist attraction on rise. This is located at  distance of 8 Km from  Pahalgama and 108 km from Srinagar. Set in a pretty locales of Kashmir, the Betaab Valley prods fresh the  song Jab Hum Jawan Honge from the movie Betaab. Facilities are available for pony ride and trout-fishing too.
