Iconic beaches, immaculate gardens, stunning harbours in Dil Chahta Hai’s Jane Kyon prods memories of the Australia’ chic and oldest town of Sydney. More than half of DCH have been shot in the splendid locales of Australia. Sydney’s most famous idyllic homes also appear in the film –the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, the beautiful harbour, the Sydney Opera House and many others.

Sid, Sameer and Akash plan a short trip to Goa and take turn to drive their satiny car. The trio trip to Goa of Dil Chahta Trip doubled up with a puerile-cum-foot-tapping track Dil Chahta Hai pictures some green Mumbai-Goa driveway. A pet and oft-shot favourite spot of film-makers, DCH captures scenes of Fort Chapora, Calangute Beach, Vagator Beach with Aamir, Akshaye and Saif at the backdrop. Scenes of Taj’s Holiday Village, Goa can be occasionally glimpsed in DCH.
| Farhan Akhtar`s master script casted Akshaye Khanna in the role of Akash, Hrithik Roshan as Siddhart and Saif Ali Khan as character Sameer in Dil Chahta Hai. When Hrithik Roshan refused the role down, it was passed to Abhishek Bachchan. After Abhishek`s reatraction, Farhan employed Aamir Khan and shuffled a quick change in the previous cast, swapping the roles of Akshaye Khanna and Aamir Khan. |  | |
