Guru, the blockbuster of 2007, is based and inspired from the life of India’s giant business tycoon, Dhirubhai Ambani. Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead role of Gurukant Desai who is the man behind rags to riches story of the movie. Aishwarya is in the second lead role of Abhishek’s wife whose marriage to her is purely phlegmatic and blooms into a strong knot of love. The story portrays the life of a man with big dreams who realises them by some fair and some unfair means. Guru won 4 film fares and several nominations. It rocked the world with its A.R Rehman. music.
Locations
Guru was primarily shot in India in four different states, 3 Southern and one north eastern state. Scenes in the movie were shot at sea facing Pondicherry locale to garnish the effects with that of a 1950s Marine Drive. The scene can be gauged where Gurukant (Abhishek) wanders by the side of Marine Drive. Much part of movies is filmed in northern Karnataka. Shots were also taken at Badami and Hampi, which was previous Chalukya Capital. Mill and factory scenes were shot at Chennai, Tamil Nadu too. Other parts of the movie were shot in Assam and adjoining areas. Guru happens to be the first film to be shot at Express State, 21 acre stretch of quondam building in the centre of Madras.
Josh

An Indian version of West Side Story, Josh didn’t rule the box office for long but the locations on which it was filmed made a big impact Besides, Aishwarya’s role of young, sexy siren, Josh appeased the masses for its beaches, sandy terrain, Goan style of culture et al. A story of two gangs who keep their horns locked and engaged in throwing constant war at each other is concluded beautifully by budding secret love between their members (Aishwarya and Chandrachur Singh) on either side.
Location
Right from the opening scenes till the end of the movie, Josh was shot at Goa. The song Mere khayalon ki Mallika and entire scene sequence is filmed at Goa.
Taal

The release and success of Taal strengthened Aishwarya’s foothold in Bollywood. The film had a zooming success for its songs and scripts where lead role of a model was played by Aishwarya. Taal is depiction of rich-poor divide and of love that knows no boundaries.
